5. Design Guide for System Designers

Last Update: Monday, January 2, 2006
New Information: Original Post.

System Calculations

Sizing the OMNI RSF System is the first step in the RSF design process. One of the many ways OMNI helps to save you time is with pre-engineered designs. Completed calculations specify the type and number of components necessary. You can simply pick an OMNI template that comes complete with the calculations, components and elevation example or choose from a list of text files that can be downloaded and inserted directly into your design.

Have a template already created but want to change the design? Insert the calculations, change the components if necessary and go.

System Layout

One of the most useful aspects of using OMNI Blocks is in the layout phase of the design. Templates come complete with a system layout, however, there is only one layout in each template. We have a variety of different layouts available as Blocks. Simply choose a configuration and insert it directly into your drawing.

Setting Elevations

When setting the elevations we have found it helpful to start with the Top of the Filter Modules. It is important that the Filter Modules are set at the correct elevations. Set too high and they can become esthetically unappealing and cause operational problems in extreme cold weather; to low and they could become inundated with site runoff and caused to fail by soils eroding into the system.

As is with engineering practices there are several ways to accomplish the same task - some more efficient than others. Whatever method you choose will quickly become easier after a couple of tries.

Need assistance? That's what we're here for. Whether it is a one-on-one meeting or a quick review of your design, OMNI offers engineers all the support they need to ensure a smooth process and pleasant experience.
