2. Electrical Installation Process

Last Update: Monday, January 23, 2006

Conduit

The installation of the 1-1/4" conduit can be accomplished anytime after the main components are installed, and before the system is backfilled. Typically most excavators will leave a trench the conduit can be laid into. The conduit will need to run from the control panel to the junction box, and then from the junction box to the recirculation tank.

Control Panel

The control panel can be mounted either inside or outside the dwelling.

For outside installations, the control panel is to be mounted on a 2" X 10" pressure treated board (Figure Below). Placement of the control panel should be from 1-2 feet above the ground and about 3-5 inches away from the side of the house (Figure Below).

For INSIDE installations, the control panel is to be mounted on a piece of plywood so the control panel is not mounted directly to the concrete basement wall.

Handhole & Junction Box

The Hand hole should be placed within 6" of finish grade level, and should be relatively close to the recirculation tank cover.
