OMNI Recirculating Sand Filters

Recirculating Sand Filters (RSFs) are an Innovative/Alternative (I/A) technology desinged for enhanced wastewater treatment. Before a RSF can be installed, the local authorities must review and approve plans prepared by a qualified designer to obtain a valid septic installation permit.

Both local and state environmental officials involved in the approval process are responsible for ensuring the system meets all required regulations; the selected I/A technology will perform better than a conventional septic system; and the installation is done in accordance with all applicable requirements.

In many coastal areas where topography, high groundwater elevations and inadequate infrastructure prohibit cost effective solutions to centralized wastewater treatment facilities, traditional soil absorption systems will continue to be the largest source of nutrient pollution. It is only through the use and proper implementation of I/A technologies, such as OMNI RSFs, will a permanent solution to an ever-increasing problem be found.

OMNI RSFs

OMNI Environmental Systems, Inc. (OMNI) manufactures and distributes Recirculating Sand Filters that incorporate the latest technology with time-tested practices to produce an affordable, easy to install and maintain, I/A septic system.

The OMNI RSF is a variable multi-pass Recirculating Sand Filter, which allows the operator to adjust the effluent mix ratio for optimized system performance. Design guidelines for OMNI RSFs employ best use and practices for wastewater treatment resulting in enhanced denitrification, producing a high quality effluent suitable for discharge to a standard soil absorption system.

The result of the OMNI RSF's work is a system that produces a superior quality effluent than that of a standard system design, by significantly removing nitrogen and bacteria.
