Knowing Your System
|
|
In most cases, septic system records pertaining to permits, as-built information, previous owners, installers, and pumping records can be found at the local Health Department. OMNI RSF owners will soon be able to access such information on-line.
System Components
Covers from Recirculation Tank and the Septic Tank need to be accessed during the maintenance visits and are required to be set at grade. Typically, these covers are constructed of a green polymer that is specially designed to blend into lawn areas and various landscape schemes. It is important that no heavy machinery (Trucks, Cars, Bobcats, etc.) be driven over or in between the Recirculation Tank and Filter Modules. This can pose a serious threat of collapsing the covers and breaking a 1.5" PVC pipe that carries effluent from the Recirculation Tank to the Filter Modules.
The Filter Modules can be safely walked on, and pose no danger of any substantial collapse. However, it is strongly recommended that activity on top of them be kept to a minimum and that they not exceed a gross weight of 300 lbs.
System Owners should always know what the system components are, how they function and where they are located. All system owners are responsible for reading their Owner's Manual and staying current with all testing and maintenance requirements.
