Things You Should NOT Do...
|
|
- Don't dig into or around the system components.
- Don't raise or lower the level of the ground on or near the system components.
- Don't cover the Filter Modules, drainfield or the area around the drainfield with impermeable materials (e.g., clay soils, plastic sheets, concrete blocks or paved walkways).
- Don't disturb or compact the mulch over the Filter Modules or drainfield.
- Don't remove or damage the inspection ports or covers.
- Don't place plants on the Filter Modules.
- Don't do more than one or two loads of laundry containing Bleach in any one day.
- Don't use a garbage disposal everyday.
- Don't operate heavy machinery on or near the system components.
- Don't dispose of any inappropriate materials, such as cooking grease, oil wastes, paint products or hazardous chemicals down the drains.
- Don't use septic tank additives. They are rarely, if ever, useful.
- Don't build any structure on or near the system components.
- Don't drain large amounts of water (i.e. pools, hot tubs, etc.) into the system.
- Don't clean paint brushes (used for either oil-based or water-based paint) into sinks or other drains.
- Don't install a sprinkler system on or within 10 feet of the Filter Modules, drainfield or tanks. Also, make sure your sprinkler system is equipped with approved back-flow prevention devices.
